Morgan's 1st birthday party happened on Saturday afternoon. After weeks (okay, months) of planning, Ariella's vision of a Goldfish-themed birthday party finally became a reality.
We dressed up the house with blue waves and orange fish. And remember all those photos of Morgan we've been posting on the 3rd day of the month? Well, we found a use for those, too.
The centerpieces of the Goldfish Extravaganza were the birthday cakes... a goldfish for Morgan (you'll see more of this cake below), and a fish bowl for everyone else.
Morgan put on her dress and was ready to party.
Of course, it wouldn't be a party without games. So after lunch, we went outside to play Bobbing for Fish.
Andrew and Katie took the plunge. But Cooper and Morgan decided that reaching into the water was definitely the better way to go.
Next, it was time to open presents. Morgan was very excited to play with all her gifts.
Finally, it was time to sing Happy Birthday and eat cake. Ariella and Lindsay made a special cake just for Morgan. It was shaped like a goldfish at one point. But it didn't stay that way when Morgan got her hands on it.
After cleaning up, we headed outside for the "after party." Morgan and Katie lounged in the mini lawn chairs.
Morgan showed everyone how she plays catch, and says "BALL!"
Last, but not least, Morgan got to try out her new sand box from Mom and Dad.
All in all, it was a very fun day for our little 1-year old. Thanks to everyone who came to the party and helped make it a special day for all of us!
