Morgan Elizabeth Saucier

At 3:58pm Saturday, May 3, 2008, Morgan Elizabeth was added to the Saucier family.

She was a week earlier than her scheduled due date, but more than ready to take on the world. She tipped the scales at 7 lbs, 14 oz and measured 19.75 inches.

Mom and baby are both doing great. We'll all be coming home from the hospital on Monday.

Almost finished

The baby could arrive any day now. Luckily, our kitchen is almost finished (finally).

The granite guys came by today to install the counter tops. The "L" that runs from the oven and around the sink needed to be 2 pieces. (If you can spot the seam, you win a prize). The other "L", on the bar side of the room, was one massive slab of granite. We figure it weighed between 300+ lbs, based on the look on the guys faces when they carried it in.









Our contractor is coming back on Friday to put in the tile backsplash and finish up all the little details. If all goes well, we'll be able to load up the cabinets this weekend and -- amazing but true -- actually cook in our kitchen. We haven't been able to do that since the end of January. Some of our pots, pans and utensils haven't been unpacked since before we moved to New Jersey from Massachusetts (almost 18 months ago). So, basically, we're really looking forward to having this done once and for all. (Oh yeah, and there's that whole "impending birth" issue, too). :-)

Crown Molding

The kitchen is almost done! Our contractor installed the crown molding on the cabinets today. He has some misc. items to do tomorrow and then Thursday, our countertops will be installed!

Second Day of Cabinets

Our contractor finished hanging all of the cabinets and installed the dishwasher & microwave. The counter top guy came and measured for our new granite counter tops.

First Day of Cabinet Installation!

Monday was the first day of the installation of our cabinets. They made quick work and hung almost all of the cabinets. We can start to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Alphabet

Andy and Shawn hung up the chair rail & a ledge for the babies rooms last weekend. THe Alphabet letters really give a pop to the room.



And we hung up the pooh prints.

We have Cabinets!

Our cabinets have finally arrived. Our contractor will start installing on Monday! so for the weekend, we can just look at them and squeeze by them. Which is easier for some than others.....



This will be our new Pantry.
