Breaking News: I'm One!

This just in... I turned 1 year old today.

I had a great birthday party on Saturday, and went to the Garden State Discovery Center today with Mom, Dad and Aunt Lindsay. (I got to pretend I was a news anchor!)

First nice Spring weekend

Last weekend (before Morgan got sick) we had a chance to enjoy the beautiful weather.

Ariella started cleaning and rebuilding Morgan's playhouse, while Morgan played with Aunt Lindsay.



Morgan's favorite toy that was a bucket of water. Tons of Fun!





Morgan took advantage of the sun to test out her new sun hat and have a photo shoot with Aunt Lindsay. (Notice that she is just a bit wet from her water bucket fun)





This was her model pose. Or maybe she's licking the water off her fingers. Who knows?



Morgan is actually trying to take the hat off in this photo. But doesn't she look good doing it?

Morgan's First Easter

Morgan enjoyed a fun-filled first Easter weekend.

Things started off when Miss Yvonne (Morgan's teacher) sent her home from school with an Easter basket. Morgan really liked pulling out all the paper.



She also liked scooting out of frame before I could snap a picture of her. (She moves pretty fast these days.)





Morgan and Dad took it easy on Saturday morning. Morgan had a little formula in bed, and she and dad watched some Sesame St. (Ahh, that's the life.)



Finally, Sunday morning the Easter Bunny arrived and left Morgan a basket full of fun: eggs with Easter "Little People" inside, a ball, a rubber ducky, a new book, and her new favorite food, Yogurt Melts.









After breakfast (and a short nap), we decided to go to the Adventure Aquarium. Bunnies typically get all the attention on Easter morning. But we discovered it's also a great time to go see fish.









When we got home, Morgan got to play with her new Little People in her Fisher-Price barn.

Ball Popper Madness!

In the last few weeks, Morgan's "playing" skills have really developed. She's figured out how to stack blocks. She fits the magnetic letters into her alphabet toy on the refrigerator. And she knows that "I'm gonna get Morgan!" is her cue to crawl as fast possible.

Today, she discovered the zany joy of her Ball Popper toy -- over and over again.

A couple other things you may find interesting:

2. Morgan laughed out loud 4 times when she watched the playback of this video

Weekend Getaway

Last weekend, we traveled to Schenectady, NY to visit our friends Susan, Keith and Ava (a.k.a. the Muses), see Heather, Frankie and Jaimie (a.k.a. the Candullos), and go to Cooper's 1st birthday party (a.k.a. that little boy who keeps showing up on this blog).

On Saturday morning, Morgan and Ava (2.5 yrs. old) had a good time playing with all of Ava's "big girl toys". Morgan really enjoyed the ball pit.



Morgan also got a chance to show off her pretend culinary skills in Ava's cool kitchen.



Most of the time we were visiting, at least one of the little girls was napping. But finally, Morgan got her chance to meet little Jaimie (5 months old). They hit it off pretty quick.



Saturday afternoon, it was off to celebrate Cooper's big day.



With a little help from Mom and Dad, Cooper blew his candle right off the cake. Nicely done.



Morgan was fascinated with Cooper's big sister, Xena. (And when I say "big" sister, I mean "BIG".) Thankfully, Xena is a very mellow dog. In fact, I'm not even sure Xena is awake in this photo.



Morgan followed Xena all around the house, and would have followed her outside if the door wasn't shut. Below, the two pals decided it would be funny to block her from coming in from the cold.

"Hey Morgan, ya know what'd be really fun? Let's tick off my 110-pound watchdog!"



Morgan can't remember if Cooper got a football for his birthday, but he's obviously been working on his "Heisman" move.



After a busy Saturday, Morgan got a few more good times in with Ava on Sunday morning before we hopped in the car for the long drive home.

Morgan @ 11 months

It's a few days late (and probably not her most photogenic moment), but here's Morgan's 11-month photo.



Thank goodness we only have to do this for one more month. Morgan clearly has better things to do with her time than have her picture taken. This month was yet another busy month for Morgan.

She started March off by suddenly sprouting 5 new teeth (4 all at once!) Unfortunately, she wasn't too keen on the idea of having pictures taken of her new pearly whites.





In March, Morgan found more and more places to explore in the house. Mom is always there to lend a hand in the exploration.



One of her favorite games is to hide behind the chair, and then pop out when we ask "Where's Morgan?"



Morgan has also taken to exploring around her crib... especially the weird gadget hanging on the wall above the crib.

("Hmm... I wonder how Mom and Dad always know when I'm playing with this thing?")



When she's not exploring inside the house, she can be found at the door begging to go outside the house. It's just a matter of time before she'll be running around the back yard.

First Steps

No joke... Morgan took her first few steps on April Fool's Day!

(Gotta love the comic timing on this kid!)
