What? Do I have something on my face?
Morgan has discovered this magical room in the house called "the office". And in this magical room there is a basket that full of wonderful arts & crafts stuff. It was the go-to basket for Katie when she came over to play, when we didn't have any toys. (What was that like?)

Mister Softee
Morgan had her very first Mister Softee Ice Cream on Saturday afternoon.
Morgan's was in a cup, of course, and not nearly as exciting as Daddy's...

Cooking with Morgan
On Saturday morning, Morgan wanted to help Mom make banana pancakes. Little did we know, Morgan had her own unique method for preparing breakfast.
Step 1:
Have Dad pull a chair up to the counter, right next to Mom. Add 1/4 cup flour to a mixing bowl. Stir until you start to get bored.
Step 2:
Add banana to the flour. Mash the bananas with a measuring spoon until they are squishy.
Step 3:
Grab 1 handful of flour and slowly sprinkle it on the chair until the blue upholstery turns white.
Helpful tip: If you're having trouble concentrating, it helps to stick out your tongue.
Step 4:
Once the flour and bananas are thoroughly mixed, carry the mixing bowl from the kitchen into the living room. If possible, try to leave footprint marks in the flour as you go.

When you arrive the the living room, sit in your chair. Then pour the remaining flour-banana mixture on the floor, and smile pretty for the camera.

Whipped Cream
This is a little old, but still cute. The daycare sent a video of Morgan and her little pals playing with whipped cream.
Charlize is her BFF at school. They get so excitied to see each other every morning. They scream in excitement and flap there little arms. And Julius is her picture pointing buddy. Their favorite thing to do is look at the family photos on the wall at school and point and say "Dah, Dah".

What has Morgan been up to?
What has Morgan been up to? It has been a very busy month and a half. Filled with illnesses and trips and visitors. So, we haven't posted too much and we know you are all wondering what little miss Morgan has been up to. Here are some of her latest tricks.
Morgan got her own little chair with her birthday money. She loves it! Here she is testing it out by holding the remote controls like daddy does.
Between the weeks of rain, we did have some warm weather. Morgan got to try her first ice pop. (Pedialite ice pop flavor, yum.)
She surprisingly liked it even though she normally doesn't like cold things.
Morgan has been very intrested in how things go together and work. She decided to try and buckle herself in. Take note of the tongue sticking out.

Long time no blog
It's been a while since we've posted anything, partly because it's been a busy couple of week. So let's catch up on what we've been up to.
Mother's Day Photo Shoot
On Mother's Day, we finally had Morgan's 1-year photos taken, after postponing several times. Of course, Morgan was having an allergic reaction to something she ate that day, so her face broke out in a rash as the photo shoot rolled on. But if you like cute little girls with rosy red cheeks, these photos will be right up your alley.
Visit from Grandma and Grand-dad
Joe and Sheila arrived from Utah on 5/12 to visit, and attend Jenny's graduation. We threw Jenny a combination Graduation/Birthday party at the house.
Morgan marked the occasion by putting on her party dress, made by our friend Sara Gerlach -- see "Gerlach Kids" blog linked on the right (shameless plug). Morgan also decided it would be fun to walk around the house carrying diapers. Weird.
Jenny planned the menu for her party, which included: pineapple-glazed hamburgers, turkey burgers with baked-in brie, and ice cream cake from Coldstone Creamery (Red Velvet cake with cream cheese ice cream and chocolate ganache.) Yum. This was Morgan's first ice cream experience. She's already hooked.

Of course, the main event of Grandma and Grand-dad's visit was Jenny's graduation from the University of the Arts. Jenny and Jon went through their official pomps and circumstances on Thursday 5/21.
Jenny earned her degree in film, and Jon got his degree in screenwriting. (Needless to say, both are currently unemployed. But we're keeping our fingers crossed.)

On a related note, we're very excited to announce the latest addition to our home. Her name is Jenny. She's 22, and a recent graduate of the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, with a degree in film. If you're looking to hire, you can find her at 129 Fairview Ave, 3rd floor.

Birthday Adventure
Since Morgan's birthday party was technically on the day before her birthday, we decided to do something fun with her to celebrate the actual birth day. So we took Morgan to the Garden State Discovery Center to try fun stuff like explore a miniature castle, climb on a tiny construction site, and filibuster a federal budget subcommitte proposal in a make-believe version of Congress. (Okay, I made that last one up.)
Before we even got into the museum, Morgan already displayed the wisdom of her old age. The admission rules at the GSDC say that it's only free for "children under 1 year of age", but she got in free anyway. (Way to stick it to the man, Morgan!)
Morgan and Mom had a fun time designing with the giant Light Bright. Morgan quickly figured out how to get the pegs into the holes so they would light up.
The lizard in this photo jumped up and scared the bejeezus out of Morgan. But before long, she was right back in that lizard's face, showing him who's boss.
At the Action News 6 set, Morgan went on-air with breaking news that Mom was lying on the floor behind her, trying not to get in the photo. (Way to keep the viewing public informed, Morgan!)
